The Girls are MOVED IN!

“Is this real life?”

The same question I asked myself over 100 times as I was holding hands, hugging, and kiss my girls foreheads. March 9, 2020 will be a day I remember, forever. I walked down the bridge, through the brick road, made a left turn into the living quarters, and my heart was racing. Today is the day I get to meet the girls. The girls I dreamt about. The girls I cried over, spread awareness about, and now… I get to hold them?

When I first walked into RH, the girls were shy. Timid. Scared, I would assume. They gave the team and I flowers, but held back. Who could blame them? The only time they saw new people in their former life, it wasn’t for the good. The team and I were exhausted, so we kept the greetings brief. I’m sure the girls were relieved.. no harm done. Only hellos and goodbyes were exchanged.

The next day was a work day for my team. After a brief devotional with the girls and some songs, we traveled 2+ hrs to another village where we hosted 300+ children. By the time we got back to the living quarters where RH resides, it was dinner and bed time. I was anxious to have free time the following day.. most missionaries are. What will we do? Where should we go? But allI kept hearing was “be still”. So that’s exactly what we did.

After devotional and tea time on the rooftop, it was time to see the girls again. When they saw me this time, they weren’t afraid. They were excited. They came and grabbed my hand and took me to their rooms. We prayed over one fo the girls as he is battling Malaria. We even got her to smile through her fever pains.

I retaught the songs we sang in devotional (waves of mercy is there FAVORITE) and we played games. I went over and got the team and the suitcases FULL of items that gracious donors gave. We handed each time out to the girls, and they were in LOVE. it was truly like Christmas morning.

I could go on and on with stories about their little personalities. They way they already love each other as sisters, even after just meeting. The way they loved me and my team.

I couldn’t do any of this without God and his mission to put these girls on YOUR hearts. They deserve the world. They deserve to be brought up like princesses, and that’s exactly the goal I have for the days, weeks, months and years to come.

More updates soon!

Until then,

-Resh
