Delayed but Not Discouraged

Hey Friends,

First I want to thank you all for following this project thus far. We’re just getting started and your support is what keeps me going most days. Since YOU as a sponsor or donor are such a big part in this team, I want to always keep full transparency with you.

I have mixed emotions as I type this. This trip has been a trying one to say the least. The first couple of weeks were full of progress and I couldn’t catch my breath. We completed some legal processes and meetings, we shopped till we dropped for the home needs, we painted, and we got lots of furniture moved in.  I am so happy to say that the building is lacking only a few things for the girls that are priority, and you can find them under the “high priority needs”. Other than these small items, the house is MOVE IN READY and full of so much love already.

Now as we go into the last month and a half of this planned tripped, my hands are tied. I’ve come to believe wholeheartedly in HIS time, in every aspect of life, and this is one of those lessons learned. As most of you have read or heard from me, the girls were “supposed” to be here at the beginning of November after my team left. The search for the girls was supposed to take up the remainder of my time here.  We were going to the brothels to safe the little girls futures , and train stations to find homeless or abandoned kids. The problem is, we can’t bring girls in without a trusted staff to support them, love them, and guide them. The two previous cooks that committed to the job abandoned it after some rules and regulations were given. I am thankful that they rejected it before moving in. It really is going to take special individuals to help these girls in the way I’ve dreamed. Five days after getting the news that I wouldn’t have cooks and a house helper, I was speaking in a village about 4 hours south and found two ladies that want the job and completely agree with the morals and rules I’ve written for a staff member to abide by. They said they can be here by November 23rd. (I shared this news about 2 weeks ago)

Fast-forward to now, the community RH resides in as well as the community the ladies, who are going to join the staff, live in have been struck by Hurricane Bulbul. We went a week with no running water, no electricity, and a very low food supply. This has hindered the move in time for the cooks and house helpers. On top of that, the lady who would be the manager that I am SO excited about being on staff, has given her two weeks notice but since her previous job role is so critical, they cannot accept her resignation until end of December. All of this to say, we are not on American time here. We are on Bengali time, and above that, His time.I know it’s going to happen, exactly as it’s meant to. The girls have already been chosen, even before birth. He knows their name, their location, and their future. We need only to rely on Him and the tasks at hand.

SUMMARY: As soon as the house is staffed with TRUSTED, vetted, and committed people, we will bring the girls in. It’s estimated now to be end of December- first of January, which would be perfect since that time is their harsh winter. I am asking for you all to pray for me and the decisions, for the staff that will come on to the team, and for the girls I have not met yet. *If you are already set up on reoccurring donations for SPONSORSHIP, don’t worry, we are holding that separately, and it will be in the Childs folder when they arrive for school clothes, admission fees, household items..etc. *

Due to the need for me back home being greater than the need for me here in the next two months, I will be back home THIS MONTH. The two people who have helped me build the home from the beginning are on staff and they are far more qualified than I am to handle everything that I happening in the in between time. I have such a peace about it. I’ve had to get over myself, my timeline, and agenda and listen to all the things around me telling me to be patient. Be still, and Know. Again, I want to always be 100% transparent, so feel free to contact me directly with any further questions.

On another note, please enjoy the pictures of the house as it looks now. The outside paint isn’t complete due to the rain, and we have some more things on back order due to shipping issues from the weather. BUT LOOK HOW BEAUTIFUL! Of course over the years I look forward to decorations created by the children, and there is SO much room for creativity! The memories that fill this space are going to make all of this so worth it. Thank you for being a part of a literal Dream Come True!
